Privacy Policy
What this site collects about you (very little), what advertising partners may collect, and how to opt out.
Effective October 5, 2026. Last updated October 5, 2026. This policy covers koreareceipts.com. The site is run by one person, Taeho Yoon (윤태호), in Seoul, South Korea — see About. Questions or requests about your data: dnsxogh96@gmail.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts, no comments, no forms and no newsletter on this site. I don’t ask for your name or email to read anything.
- Visit statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies.
- This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners can use cookies to do that. You can turn off personalized ads — links below.
- If you email me, I get your email address and whatever you write. I use it to reply and to fix the article, and for nothing else.
What is collected, and by whom
Hosting and security (Cloudflare)
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser type and the page you requested in order to deliver the page and block attacks. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
I count page views, countries, referring sites and device types with Cloudflare Web Analytics. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or localStorage and does not fingerprint individuals by IP address or user agent. I see totals, not individuals.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site may display ads from Google AdSense. When it does:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
- The third-party vendors serving ads here are Google AdSense and the ad vendors Google certifies. How Google uses advertising cookies: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. How Google uses data when you use its partners’ sites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. If another ad network is ever added, it will be listed here first.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, through a Google-certified consent message. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Ads may then be less relevant, but the site works the same.
If you write to me, your message stays in my inbox (Gmail, run by Google). I don’t add you to any list, and I don’t share it. If your message leads to a correction, I may mention that a reader flagged it — never your name unless you ask me to. I delete correspondence when you ask me to, or when I no longer need it to answer you or keep a correction on record.
Please don’t send sensitive information (passport numbers, card numbers and the like). Nothing on this site needs it.
Links to other sites
Articles link to official fare pages, restaurant sites and similar. Those sites have their own privacy policies; I don’t control what they collect.
Sharing and transfers outside Korea
I don’t sell or give your personal information to anyone, except where a law requires it through a lawful request.
The site runs on outside services, so visitor data is processed on their servers, which may be outside Korea (mainly in the United States). This is disclosed here as required by Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법, Article 28-8):
| Recipient (contact) | Country | Data | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. (privacy policy and contact) | United States (global network) | IP address, browser information, pages requested | Hosting, security, visit statistics | Per Cloudflare’s policy |
| Google LLC — AdSense (privacy policy and contact) | United States | Cookies, ad identifiers, IP address, pages visited | Showing ads and measuring them | Per Google’s policy |
| Google LLC — Gmail (privacy policy and contact) | United States | Your email address and message, if you write to me | Receiving and answering your email | Until deleted as described under Email |
The transfer happens over the network when you load a page or send an email. If you don’t want it, you can block cookies in your browser and choose not to email me.
Your rights
Everyone. You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or ask me to stop using it. In practice the only personal data I hold is email you sent me. Write to dnsxogh96@gmail.com and I will act on it within the period Korean law requires.
EEA / UK (GDPR). The legal basis for keeping your email is my legitimate interest in answering you and correcting articles. Advertising cookies rely on the consent you give (or refuse) in the consent message. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). I don’t sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies set by Google may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law — you can opt out through Google Ads Settings and the aboutads.info tool above, or by using a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
Korea. You can also contact the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (118 in Korea) or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.
Children. This site is not directed at children under 14, and I don’t knowingly collect their data.
